2012 Civic Coupe EX Build

Hey guys, sorry been away from the web for a while. Thanks for the congrats and I’ve been out here for a few months now. Luckily I haven’t been in those tight spots in major city’s like you guys mentioned, but I have been on loads going cross country a few times. Right now I’m on a load from Nebraska to California.

I’ve been having an issue with my car, it seems like it is making a clunking noise from the rear of the car, I’m guessing shocks. They also don’t feel smooth at all, you can feel everything on the road and there is no absorption. (Perhaps I didn’t install them right, not sure. Bought off Amazon so TruHart didn’t support them, only if you buy from them directly). I’m thinking of picking up another set of shocks this Friday, but I wanted to see if you guys had any recommendations. I’m working with a budget of $400.

Will there be anything out for Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Thanks, appreciate any suggestions.

so you bought truhart shocks on amazon and installed them? Did they work initially, or you just installed them and they're making noise right out of the gate? Are you on the stock springs?

Correct, they never had any absorption to them out the gate, so I’m not sure what the issue is. I used the hardware and installed reverse order of what I removed. I have the skunk 2 springs.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone complain or have any issues with the truharts. I’m not sure what to say

I'm at a loss as well. More importantly, why does where you purchased their product make a difference for warranty issues? I've heard nothing but great things about truhart shocks.

I tried to get ahold of the seller on Amazon, but no matter how many times I reached out I never got a response. I’m not saying their bad, but the ones I ordered don’t seem to function. I’m not an expert on installing so I could of missed something, but I used what came with it. The product didn’t have warranty through Amazon and TruHart said they don’t support outside purchases even though it’s their product. They said they couldn’t help because I didn’t buy it through the actual company.

Pretty ridiculous practice if you ask me, either support your product through all vendors or close up shop

that is good to know, but the company that won't back up their stuff deserves no business.

I was under the impression it would be supported like you said since it’s the same product. Regardless, I was surprised they wouldn’t. I can’t say much for the product and I won’t say anything bad about it, but the customer service was lacking. I’ll have to pick up the product through the company this time. Hopefully

if you file a claim with amazon, you will likely get a full refund from them.

also, they have no terms on their site regarding warranty claims only allowed by approved distributors. You could totally fight that if you wanted.

Warranty:

TuHart products are covered by a limited manufacturer’s warranty against defects on originally installed vehicle for the period stated below. Warranty does not cover parts that have been abused, modified, incorrectly installed or used for other than the original intent or application. Normal wear and tear (at the opinion of Truhart) is not covered under warranty. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims, warranty applies to original purchaser only and is non-transferable. Shipping and labor are not covered under warranty.

I don’t have any proof unfortunately. I didn’t know or think there was anything I could do. This is definitely good to know however in case it happens in the future anywhere else.

Of our conversations, I typically delete old messages out of habit. Or can I still go through with a claim despite having no proof to back up what I experienced?

You don’t need correspondences to file with amazon. You can literally just call amazon and request a refund, or do it directly from your account.

I've been away for a while, but I'll post some photos of some things I have done. I picked up some Muteki SR48 red lugs for the car and I'm trying to get my hands on some OEM red Honda badges. I'm just waiting on a local shop for that.

Thanks! @fahnix

Does anyone know how I might be able to keep my doors open and to stay locked in place without them coming back to slam into your legs? Thanks.
