Hey everybody. New 2013 Alabaster Silver Metallic Si Sedan owner here. I picked it up last weekend and just had tints installed today. As I'm sure most of you already know...I look for any and every excuse to go out for a drive. I can neither confirm nor deny purposely "forgetting" something from the grocery list to have an excuse to head right back out! I'm looking forward to hearing about everyone else's civic experiences.image.jpg

I still do that and I've had it for a few months now. :) Welcome and congrats on the car!

The silver looks great man! Keep us posted on your progress and welcome to the addiction!

Welcome. Nice ride.

I thought I was the only one who looks for excuses to drive the car.

the car looks great congrats, I love my9thgen as well! only complaints I have so far is the tank doesn't fill its self lol just be careful at high speeds when changing lanes the car seems to fish tail, that is the only bad thing

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. It definitely seems like a good group of folks here! I've mostly been an "SUV guy" so I appreciate all the info.

Now that the tints are done, I'm already thinking about the next mod. I was considering HIDs, but the installer at the tint shop recommended I hold off. He said LED 9006 headlight bulbs are 3-6 months away from DOT certification. Has anybody heard anything about them? Cost? Performance?

Whaaaat? Really? For an aftermarket plug and play kit? Or was he talking about the OEM setups for car manufacturers, like what Audi has?

He said they were LED 9006 bulbs that easily replaced the old OEM ones...one for one. No additional mod needed. His shop also does/did HID installs, so I figured it was pretty credible info.

Some have used them on their drl/high beam bulb. If you do that, you will no longer have high beams. They're just not nearly bright enough. If you're looking for a replacement, look at HIDs/retrofitting projectors.
