Not quite a Civic... but still fun

LED strip hidden between the headliner and the rear window? No plastic module to see just a sharp red line. I actually think that EL wire stuff would look great since you wouldn't be able to see the individual LEDs. Or just a strip with very small lights.

Sometimes I wonder what you smoke at night

@ethlar - Whats the status of the car mang? You been driving it at all?

We saw an old 356b 1600 the other day. My wife loved it and we had to get a picture of her next to it. I started telling her about your car and she wants to go for a ride in it.

I want to go for a ride in it too! Car hasnt started since November when dad went to move it and the starter went kaboom. Im in the process of trying to find him a new mechanic cause hes lost faith in his friend who had the car since the starter went, just started working on the car last week...

I did actually look into if the Accord can handle towing the 911, probably highly ill advised but it might work since the 911 weighs practically nothing

The 8th gen civic has an 800lb tow limit. And thats on the LX! If the porsche is close to 2000lbs Im certain the accord could handle it. I have a 1/4" hitch on mine for a bike rack. If you have one I bet it depends more on the ability of the hitch than the car.

Although a 1 day truck rental is pretty cheap. What about AAA just to get it from place to place? Don't they have a 50mile tow radius? And yea, get a new mechanic. I bet the two of us plus @jrotax101 could get the thing sorted in a weekend.

AAA tows for free when its broken, but will only tow once per incident so getting it away from the current mechanic will cost from mile 1, the air cooled specialists in the DC area are in northern virginia and at least a 40 min drive through some nasty traffic.

Dads got a '13 CRv as well, dunno if that has a better tow rating than the accord

Hmm, crv support vehicle might be a better option, plus then i dont have to put a hitch on the accord

The mixture is off, speedo is indicating 20mph high, and the breakdown is the ignition system failed, most likely the CDI box that controls the spark, coil, and tach

same shop as before so it wont be on the road for another year

Made it to cars and coffee, ran great getting there, started stuttering on the highway driving back though. Apparently when the CDI box starts going they tend to overheat and lose spark.

Time to find a new place isn't it?

Surprised you haven't engineered a completely new solution yet.

Shop owner is a friend of my dads, owner and i dont get along as well as they do cause ive been right about things more often than he has.

I did actually find a electrical diagram for the CDI box and i could refurbish it given a few weeks and a workbench
