I picked this up last month for MSRP, and I love it. I'm very happy with my choice, as I was bouncing around between the Focus RS, STi, and Type R.
For anyone that wants or cares to know why I landed on the Type R, here is why:
Focus RS has great HP and is AWD, but I didn't care for the seats...
It is a blast. I really like it. The interior is a lot better then I was expecting. It handles amazing and the power is great.
Too bad you don't have a section for me to post my car too :P
I originally called this dealership back in December 2016, and told them I was interested in the Type R when it was released. I had purchased several cars from them before, so I trusted them, and they knew me.
They wouldn't accept a deposit until they had a time frame of when the Type R would...
I ended up getting screwed by my dealership, and I called them out on it too. Even put up a Yelp review that was later deleted by Yelp.
I have my deposit down at another dealership for MSRP, whenever it comes in. 2018 of course.
Agreed on both fronts.
It had me almost buy a Focus RS, as the RS has heated seats/steering wheel and AWD. To be honest, that is still on the table. As I can get a loaded RS for 37k out the door.
I am a little disappointed that the US isn't getting Blind Spot Monitoring in the Touring package.
I know its something small to be picky over, but I feel that this should be something standard in a Type R. Just my opinion.
Thanks!
I was contemplating getting a BRZ because of the handling and the looks. But after thinking about it, and realizing that 28k for the BRZ is a little much for something that doesn't have much technology in the interior, plus only 200HP. The only thing it really has is handling.
I had...
Figured after a year I should post.
I don't have my FA5 anymore, but I enjoy hanging out with the civic community. I picked up a 2013 Mazdaspeed3 last weekend. Fun car, I really enjoy it! Picked it up in Portland, and drove back home to Boise.
And my dog sleeping in the back on the way home!
