So I test drove a 2021 TLX Adv, 2022 ES 350, and the 2021 ES 300h I bought within a short period. The TLX was by far the most fun. However, the V6 in the 350 was more than powerful enough for the car. I didn't get the same opportunity to push the Lexus as their sales folks ride along with you...
Absolutely.
I will be explaining how bad things went. I don't want anything [from Honda/Acura corp] in return, just to give my story.
It really spoiled my view of the Acura brand, and ultimately led to my Lexus purchase.
Good news,
The suffering is over. The second Acura dealer was friendly, but too money hungry to deal. So I went next door to the Lexus dealer with the best customer service I've ever experienced...
Ended up loving the ES300h they had, and everyone there was awesome.
Now, I can FINALLY enjoy a...
Not that the dealer noticed or cared, but my parents were shadowing me during this purchase. My dad was dying to test drive a 2022 MDX to see if he liked it. So, it's more than just me they lost out on. My dad will obviously not be asking them about one.
Got my refund today. Actually got a glance at the car. I came unannounced and I don't think they wanted me to see the car again. Turns out they buffed the damage away. So I think they lied to me, the damage is almost gone, to the point that with my handheld flashlight it was hard to see. The...
Borrowing from the local family fleet at the moment. So although I no longer own a car, I still have stuff to drive. Otherwise would have not sold the civic.
New 2021. Albeit a November 2020 manufactured car.
This is one of those "straws that broke the camel's back" things with this dealer. Bad service, and a car that was not ready for delivery. Notwithstanding the "KARR" security module that was cut/spliced into the wiring.
So a $50k (USD) car had a voided warranty on any wire that module touched...
Whelp, that didn't work out. Turns out the door ding damaged all layers of paint. Dealer offered to let me bail. Good thing I rejected it before delivery.
On to something else now...
Well, In traditional fashion some issues were had upon arrival. Ended up rejecting the delivery today. Came really close to bailing on the sale, but gave dealer the chance to make it right.
Found a door ding that will be waiting on PDR, interior was dirty, random marks on interior B-pillar...
Well, as the title says, this is the end of the 'road' so to speak for me here. In the last two years I've made the transition from my college student years, to a real professional. For 9 years, my ol' 2012 EX has been with me, saw me through my undergrad and graduate degrees, an internship...
Bumping this thread is perfectly fine, that's partly why I posted it. Take a copy of the of the TSB and go to the dealer. The dealer will go through American Honda themselves for confirmation. If Honda confirms eligibility, the dealer will handle the body shop, etc.
It will be done by a "Honda...
Welcome to the forum!
Im out and about at the moment and cant get the tecnical details for you now. But wanted to let you know i saw your post.
I would recommend posting a new thread or pm to talk about it. (Some members are sensitve about thread jacking)
Forgot to mention, after the first few turns of the ratchet the bushing broke loose. I ran it the rest of the way down with a impact wrench. (not that you can't go all the way with hand tools, but will take a looong time.)
Note that we get practically no rust here, so maybe I had it easy.
Just wanted to report in:
Got the tool and it fit perfectly on the old Ody. Dropped the old bushing out and the new one in within 5 minutes or so each arm on the bench. It's a good buy.
Our Ody and Pilot have a near identical front suspension. Noises we've dealt with were from LCA bushings and sway bar bushings. Also engine mounts. Vegas heat here hates rubber.
We have a 2004. I called the company and got transferred to the tech line. I was told it should still work on the 04 Ody but may not work on vehicle. I don't have a press and I'm going to pull LCAs anyway.
EDIT: by on vehicle It meant without LCA removal.
Actually considering buying this tool. Not for my Civic but the family Odyssey. Compliance bushings failing just like our Pilot's did. (was not aware of tool at the time I swapped control arms on it).
Not sure exactly when I'll decide to buy, but will update if I do so.
I have their...
You're welcome! I enjoy spreading information when I can. I've seen a few 9th gen civics in the wild with paint issues, so this info may become more well known.
Side note: I don't have any issues with this thread becoming a hub for this TSB for any others out there with questions. Not sure how...
