Cool....I can't wait. I was guessing that Honda may have planned the update for the 2014 model in 2 steps. Meaning the 2013 was a styling and cosmetic change and the 2014 will be the powertrain upgrade??
Just curious if anyone knows when Honda will officially reveal their 2014 civic si model? I googled "2014 Honda civic si" and this video came up as the first listing. In 3:09 of the video he speculates that the new civic si with get Honda's earthdream technology with 30 more hp and a redline...
Nice reels Dar Dar. Keep us posted as to which one you prefer as you use it. The weight of reels is an important spec for me but that's just my personal preference. And you're right, the baitfeeder/baitrunner feature is always convenient and a great feature to have and paying only $40 for...
Personally I'd get the flashpro first and just temporarily upload the stock ECU reflash to get rid of that awful rev hang. But you should do both if you can and definitely get a tune with flashpro.
Actually on second thought, getting the downpipe first will probably save you a little money...
I was using a 4 oz lead and 40 lb test power pro. But you also have to keep in mind that carp rigs and baits are really small and streamlined. If I put cut bait on my hook, I'd definitely reduce my casting distance a great deal (maybe even half because of the air resistance and non streamlined...
Lol that was good decision. Distance casting is really big in carp fishing and they actually make an almost identical model for carp fishing over in the UK: http://www.okuma.com.tw/en/products-view-1-1-40.html
Here's a simple video with tips on how to increase distance. It's a simple...
I had the K&N intake on the 2012 civic si. I enjoyed the sound and small gain. The install was pretty straight foward as well.

Of those you listed above I'd personally have chosen the Okuma Distance Surf DS-60 for it's distance casting ability and light weight (~20 oz). The avegner abf65 and 90 are about 27 oz. 7 ounces is nothing but once you put it on a reel, it surprisingly makes a difference. But then again...
Thanks! The common carp are omnivores. Although their teeth are not visible, deep in their throats they have pharyngeal teeth that can crush very hard objects like crustacean shells. Their natural diet is similar to other freshwater fish and consists of snails, crayfish, mussels, fish...
I took my coworker and his family fishing recently before the kids went back to school. We had a great time although I think the carp were a bit too strong for them (too young for carp I think) but I know they'll remember the experience forever because this was their first time fishing (I still...
Missouri does have some great fishing. The catfish there get very big as well (over a 100 lbs). I think Missouri could definitely produce common carp over 50 lbs (the 40 lb range is typically the maximum common carp will grow to).
You might want to try Lake Prince which is about an hr away from VA beach. I believe the VA state record for the common carp came from there at 49 lbs. But you're right, specific venues and location is really important when targeting the bigger fish....some lakes and reservoirs just don't have...
