Just an update:
I was able to get my flip key cut, get the transponder programed, and get the key fob programed.
I found a locksmith who was able to do all this for $90.
The result is great. No hacking or gutting out an old key. Everything works perfectly so far.

It look the same size and the fob has the same layout as my original key

I just got a new key fob for my 2014 civic lx and after trying multiple times I still can’t program it. I move my original key from off to on and click the lock button and repeat 4 times but I can’t make the lock system cycle and program the new key fob.
Any advice? Is the process different...
Thanks for the awesome guide. I was able to install a touchscreen from a EX in my 2014 LX. My only question if you know a way to make to audio over bluetooth work. I was able to connect my phona and answer calls but when trying to connect to play audio through the system, it says it can’t find...
