I'm at around 70k miles. I bought it as a CPO, and from the service records, it doesn't look like the oil has been changed.
Why am I trying to downshift to first - isn't that what you're supposed to do when you are coming to a full stop at a traffic light?
I have just begun to notice that in my 2014 Civic Si, as I am slowing down and downshifting, it's pretty hard to slot 1st until the car comes to a stop - In my other car, i had this problem when the synchros in the first gear started wearing out, and the gearbox needed to be overhauled.
I read...
Wanted to get a second opionion on if this rust is expected?
My 12 Year old car in India does not have this massive rust, though it drives through much deeper pools, and puts up with more heat and humidity
I'm in Norwalk, Connecticut. My other car is in India - Where we love our diesel hatches ( they outsold the petrols until very recently when we started to implement our version of Euro VI)
more on it here What else do you drive?
My si has run a little over 2k miles in the past 1 year. The oil indicator shows lots of life left. Is it really ok to go on? I'm used to changing oil in my much other car (turbodiesel) every 6 months regardless of usage.
had been looking for some decent warm white LED panels to fit into the interior lights
THe first one i ordered was too wide (36mm) to fit in the front roof lights. This one was just right...
I think this mud should not be a bit deal. Inertia and some fancy footwork should see you though. Deal with mud like this in India on a regular basis since roads are optional, and we have to do with econo hatches
typically most stock head units run class AB/class D amps run on the 12DC output (and usually don't have any voltage boosters)
This translates to roughly 18W RMS - which is well within what most aftermarket speakers take, if that's what you're worried about
Update: Realized that the connector is right at the back of the licence plate light, and a poke of the screwdriver was all it needed. Fitting these lights itself was a bit complicated as their clasp mechanism is a poor copy of the original design, and actually does not work the same way. The fit...
What sort of shop could i ask to do something like this? Should I ask a bodyshop?
Not looking for anything colourful, but mine are a bright orange from rust and i would like to have the rust sanded out & rust converted before coating with some zinc or primer and a matt black unobtrusive paint.
Swapped out my Licence plate lights + interior lights with amazon LED's (mostly because my year old turns on the interior lights, and they end up draining the battery, and wanted to reduce that)
The number plate ones are too dull, and I found these instead...
My understanding is that higher rpm's provide higher current which is needed when a battery is dead and charging.
My worry is that I drove my car hard for 2 hours immediately after jump starting, and then started driving normally afterwards and even after 2 months, the mileage is still poor
I don't think I let my car idle immediately after starting the first time after the reset. I think i revved It a fair amount of times because i was worried the battery was going to die again.
I will check the air filter - haven't checked it since I bought it in august. Checked tire pressure and saw it was around 30, pumped it up to 35 or so. Mileage is 62K. I'm driving the same 5 mile commute to office every day I always have been.
Is there a proper ECU relearning procedure? How long...
My 2014 Civic Si had its battery die recently, and i got it jump started. After the jump start, i drove around at fairly high RPM's for a couple of days with late shifts to ensure that the battery got charged.
One unfortunate side effect has been that My average mileage has gone down from 24 to...
