FWD vs RWD vs AWD Thread. :)

It's not about the power, but the rawness feel of a fully 'manual' car. :giggle:

hahaha "fully manual"

Yeah, plus the R32 is the change to the RB26DETT monster...... There are a couple R32 specialty tuning shops around where you can get "new" old stock parts still. not bad.

My fwd si out handles my rwd charger I traded in for my civic. It just depends on the car.
yeah 90% of american cars are write off's.

i'd say americans stopped making nice cars in 1986.. the made the 86 RS200 Evolution, and Escort cosworth, then it all went downhill... and even then, those were euro spec american cars made my euro designers.....

How bout' an 87 R31 right now? R31 GTS with RB20 engine.

you know how rare these are? lol

Completely agree. I had a Charger at one point as well. It handled awful and was brutal in the snow. Way too heavy. The Si is a much better car in that regard. I could see a more sporty RWD being a lot of fun in warmer climates though.

rwd of a silvia K's or an Q's or a z32/33/34 will all out handle a FWD si any day of the week....

Dodge doesn't make good handling cars to begin with. Lol. The 5.0 Mustang out handles many RWD cars. It even performs just as well as the E92 M3.

The Mustang GT is probably one of the best handling RWD American cars right now.

I just posted a vid with a Mustang competing against the M3 and evening out with it...

And the M3 vs Mustang. Although it's a very close call, it could have been a tie.

The GT also starts at ~$30k USD. That is a lot of car and hp for the price. Stiff chassis + high hp Coyote engine = win. Lol.

I'm not even a fan of Mustangs, until this generation came out.

Anywho...I'll be looking forward to the new Type-R's Nurburgring lap time.

http://www.autoblog.com/2013/08/13/2015-honda-civic-type-r-spy-shots/

Honda has something wicked up its sleeve, based on the latest batch of spy photos we've received. This is purportedly the next Honda Civic Type-R, out testing in Germany and on the Nürburgring. The last generation of the Type-R went out of production in Europe in 2010, and while we admired it from afar, it's 2.0-liter, four-cylinder produced similar figures to the American-market Honda Civic Si.

From the looks of both it and the cars Honda engineers are benchmarking, the next Type-R will be much more powerful. In the spy photos, we can see four meaty exhaust pipes along with what is quite clearly an intercooler hiding behind the rear bumper. That's right, the next Type-R will be turbocharged. It'll need to be, though, if it's meant to tackle cars like the Opel Astra OPC, Ford Focus RS500 and Renault Megane RS Trophy (not pictured, but there according to our spies).

300 horsepower from a 2.0-liter engine should be on offer, and would match the competition quite well. Other obvious tweaks from the ho-hum five-door Civic are mainly aerodynamic. It sports an aggressive body kit with a meaty chin spoiler, rocker panels and a big rear wing. Red Brembo brake calipers can also be seen behind the sporty wheels and low-profile tires.

We'd expect the Civic Type-R to arrive in showrooms sometime in 2014, making a debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show a long shot. Geneva seems like the more likely locale for an unveiling.

That is a jump of over 100hp from the previous Euro FN2 and 80hp from the FD2. Torque will be much higher too due to the turbo charged 2.0L engine.

Cadillac ATS. Magnetic ride suspension, stiff chassis, 50/50 weight distribution.

Cobalt SS TC = Fastest FWD production car in the Nurburgring.

Corvette = Corvette = Corvette

Mustang 5.0 = E92 :D
