Honda Canada Recalling CR-V & Acura ILX Models Over Door Latch

MARKHAM, Ont. - Honda Canada says it will voluntarily recall approximately 20,920 model-year 2012 CR-V vehicles and about 800 model-year 2013 Acura ILX vehicles.

The automaker needs to replace both front door latches and, in some CR-V vehicles, the interior front door handles because the door release cable may become partially disengaged. Honda Canada says when this happens, the affected door might open unexpectedly.

No accidents or injuries have been reported related to this issue. Honda says it will begin mailing notifications to affected owners in mid-August. Owners can check to see if their vehicles are affected, and obtain additional information, by going on-line after July 20 at www.honda.ca/recalls and www.acura.ca/recalls.
Honda owners can also call (888) 946-6329 and Acura owners can call (888) 922-8729.

interesting to see that they've at least sold 800 ILX's.

US Info:
The recall includes 166,600 CR-Vs and more than 6,200 ILXs in the U.S. The total recall across the globe affects 314,000 CR-V small SUVs from the 2012 model year and about 7,300 Acura ILX small luxury cars from the 2013 model year.

Honda says that if the inside driver or passenger door handles are used at the same time as the power or manual door locks, the inner door latch may not work. This means a door may not latch, or it could latch and open when the locks are used.

The company says no crashes or injuries have been reported because of the problem.

The interesting thing in all this is the number of sold ILX-es as it is on the market since June if I'm not mistaken?

May 25th according to a few online articles,...so yea. Quite a few sold in like 2 months time. 7k units in Canada/US

This will maybe sound a bit heretic but in my opinion the ILX should wear the Civic 9th badge instead of the current 9th :)
