TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- American Honda today reported September 2012 U.S. sales of 117,211 units, an increase of 30.9 percent compared with September 2011. The Honda Division posted September 2012 sales of 102,845 units, an increase of 29.3 percent compared with September 2011. Acura's U.S. September sales of 14,366 units increased 43.5 percent compared with September 2011.

- Civic gains 57.0 percent compared with September 2011 with 21,546 in sales
- CR-V sets a new September record with sales of 22,268, up 13.6 percent
"The all-new 2013 Accord hit dealerships in mid-September and our dealers are already seeing a significant increase in customer traffic surrounding the new model," said John Mendel, American Honda executive vice president of sales. "Combined with the strength of key models such as Civic, CR-V and Odyssey, Honda is once again firing on all cylinders as we enter fall."
Acura- RDX sets its 5th-consecutive record sales month with 2,938 units, up 119.9 percent compared to September 2011
- MDX retains the top-selling Acura title with sales of 4,692 units, up more than 60.4 percent from September 2011
- TL sedan sales up 29.1 percent from last year with 3,236 in monthly sales
"Acura's core models of TL and MDX continue as a driving force for the brand," said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. "Now, we have new products such as RDX setting monthly sales records and the ILX continuing to carve out a foothold as the gateway to our lineup."
The daily selling rate (DSR) is calculated with 25 days for September 2012 and 25 days for September 2011. Year-to-date, the DSR is calculated with 230 days for 2012 and 229 days for 2011. All other percentages in release are unadjusted; see table for adjusted DSR figures.

MARKHAM, ON, Oct. 2, 2012 /CNW/ - Combined September sales of 12,911 units by the Honda and Acura divisions of Honda Canada Inc. represented a 16% increase over last year's sales. The Honda Automobile Division reported September sales of 11,457 units, up 21% from last year, led by record sales of Honda Ridgeline (up 112%), Pilot (up 54%) Fit (32%) and CR-V (up 26%). The Acura Division reported September sales of 1,454 units, with strong sales of Acura RDX (up 66%).
"We are very pleased the Honda CR-V has achieved all-time calendar year sales record with three months still to go in 2012 and Acura RDX continues its strong sales momentum since its launch in April," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president, Honda Canada Inc.
Honda Canada has sold approximately 3.6 million Honda and Acura passenger cars and light-duty trucks in Canada since 1973. Of all Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada in September, 96% were produced at the company's assembly plants in North America.

Have to remember that not all of them are into modding their cars. Some will never look for answers online, and others will look for info as time progresses. Not sure on the # of Si models produced for 2012.
 
@ Webby.. Yup fully aware of the typical automobile owner. Spent a good 10 years in the automotive aftermarket and manufacturing end of it. Many consumers/end users lack knowledge. It's a shame they don't use the search bar on google more often lol
 
Info on how many SIs would be interesting as well. Overall kudos to Honda for such great Civic sales improvement despite a model that many official reviewers criticized for poor interiors and dated tech. Looks like the customers felt differently.

You could take a look at your local dealer. Lets say he has a rolling inventory of 50 civics, out of those 5 Si's. 1 in 10 depending on demographics in that area probably closer to 1 out of every 15 on a national average are Si's ;)
