Honda has stated outright that its envious of Nissan’s success with the Qashqai in Europe, where the city-dwelling off-roader is outselling the whole Honda lineup.

In order to find an answer for this, the manufacturer plans to offer a much smaller SUV than the CR-V which is to be based on the new Civic’s platform.

The fact that the hatchback architecture will be used and not the US-built sedan means that a North American arrival of the new vehicle will prove difficult if not unlikely. The vehicle hasn’t got a name yet, but it will likely go on sale early next year, according to AutoExpress.

Illustrations show how it’s likely to look.

It's ok looking but it reminds me too much of that Mazda SUV. That and a Crz gone wrong

you dislike the euro civic? Seemed like quite a few users here said they liked it over the US model

The design doesn't look too bad. I guess this is why Honda made the CRV a tad bigger.

believe it or not, it's smaller than the previous cr-v in length and height.

"The 2012 model's wheelbase and track are the same as before, and it's still 71.6 inches wide. The new CR-V is an inch shorter from nose to tail (178.3 inches) and has also lost an inch of height (65.1)."

Not crazy about the front or the rear tail light section....

well, this is purely what someone created to illustrate what it could look like.
