loud knock/thump

after i turn off my car and im sitting in the car i hear a type or knock/thump. has anyone experienced that?

I havent. But ill bump the thread. Can you describe more what it sounds like. Is it as the motor stops or after it has stopped? Even better if you can post a video. Does it only happen after you shut the car off or do you hear it other times as well?

Video with sound will make it easier for the community to advice. If it happens every time and it is cyclical and continuous go to a mechanic, better safe than sorry.

Agreed either way have your shop check it out because while we may be able to give suggestions thats all we can do. Considering its not normal id take it in.

Sometimes, depending on the weather, my brakes don't release right away after I take my foot off the pedal. This often results in a clunk or thump sound when they do eventually let go after a second or two. Could it be that?
