New and glad to be here

Thanks for the prompt info guys. I decieded to go with a box instead of the custom enclosure just to save money and time.

I looked into the JL audio XD1000/5 and its going to be close to $800 to $850 from what I saw. I was trying to be a bit more conservative with my sound system budget. I'll probably regret it, I love music and wanted my system to sound like what xXcivicXx was descibing in his previous post above. I have a guy on the inside at best buy and picked this for an amp and these two for a speaker upgrade. Generous discount so cant go wrong. The links are below, does anyone have info on these? Any info would be much appreciated.

Now they have other brands like MTX and infinity but not a lot of options with a place like best buy. Is there something else that you guys would recommend from best buy or am I going in the wrong direction altogether? Their car audio links are also below. Thanks in advance for everyone's input, i swear once you get started on these things it raises more questions.

So the amp you picked is a monoblock which is a single channel and will only power a subwoofer vs the JL which is a 5 channel. Also, that amp will not accept the stock head unit signal. If you wanted to do 2 separate amps you woukd need a 4 channel for the speakers and a mono block for the sub.

If you are replacing the stock speakers with similar style aftermarket ones, you will need component for the front (2-3 pieces) and coaxial for the rear (2 in 1 speakers). The two Alpine Type S you linked were component and coaxial, respectively. So you would need 1 set of each unless you specifically wanted to run 2 sets of components or coaxials.

When designing a system for our cars it's best to choose an amp that will work with the stock headunit first then choose speakers based on how much power you will by supplying to them. You could also go the route of choosing the amp and speakers you want, but if the amp doesn't accept the inputs you would need a processor to clean up the signal so it doesn't sound distorted

Alright, this audio stuff is starting to make a lot more sense now, thanks bud. I'll keep you guys posted.
