My real name is Tak. I fell in love with my chick, "Honda Civic 2012 LX Taffeta White" two years ago and we were married at the Honda dealership of NYC as I was shopping for my daily commuter. Initially I was looking around Toyota Camry and Corolla. I've driven Toyota Corolla and Nissan Altima before but driving Honda Civic was new to me.

Modifying my civic as a hobby is the first time in my career. I am not a fan for speed or racing. So R18 is more than enough for me. It is all show no go.

I always post threads randomly and ask questions here. To be honest, I've learned a lot about modifying my civic here. I love the people here. So I want to start a build thread myself to keep track of my progress. I will play with my civic until it dies one day!

I got a minor car accident a couple of weeks ago. Some A hole who drove a van cut from behind then to my front and brake checked me. I ended up hitting this van. The damage was minor, but insurance repair cost $1800, which a new hood, new bumper, new bumper reinforcement, and new grille need to be installed.
I just got back the car not too long ago and need a new grille soon as I gave the stock grille to body shop for time being. I am trying to get a hookup from a local 9th gen member who has a modulo grille for sale. I will DIY color match paint.

Then I will install 8th Gen Si Axleback exhaust and CollegeHillsHonda Accord upgrade Horn.
In the middle of the summer, if I got $, I will install Modulo front bumper lip and Mugen style side skirts either with friends or body shop.

Perhaps next year, I will replace the mugen wing with 8th gen Type R style wing and add either OEM or spider fog lights

I just met a local 9th Gen civic member Bryan who got me the Modulo grille in black unpainted today afternoon. I join the Modulo club now.

Now I gotta decide whether I paint all matte black or taffeta white on the bottom and black on upper.

After a few days of thinking, I like aggressive look more. So I go with all black.
The weather is so nice this weekend. I just painted the grille, 3 coats of adhesive promoter, 3 coats of black and 3 coats of clear. After it dries, I'll put the Red JDM emblem.

Just installed the 8th Gen Si Axle back exhaust. The sound is nice and very deep tone. It's not a fart can at all. I like it. It's very sporty.

The gasket was reused from 8th gen civic si provided by the seller and the stock spring bolts were reused.

If you want some sound and do not want a fart can, the 8th Gen Civic Si Axleback is a great choice.

Yes, I thought about it. But it may be a problem when i drop my car lowered while driving daily in NYC.

The maximum drop I'm thinking about is 1". If I drop it, I may go with coilover, not spring. I wanna avoid headaches down the road.

I have the Eibach too. It was a touch over an inch I think. I travel to the city a few times a month for work and I haven't had that many issues. A few scrapes here and there but nothing crazy.
