Can someone explain to me how the circled parts in the image affect wheel sizing?

On 1 piece wheels you don't deal with types of "disk" or lip size, so I'm a little bit confused.

If you have a big brake kit, they sell the R to gain more brake clearance. A= standard brake clearance setup. They're advertising lip size so people know how big of a lip will be on the rim in whatever size. That's usually more of a thing on rear wheel drive cars where they can run lower offsets.
