Tried to upgrade with the 2013 Pilot horn. Unfortunately, the Pilot connector sits on the opposite end of where the stock piece is. The only way I was able to remotely get it to work was to pop out the plastic latch that holds the wiring in place away from the metals. That gave it more freedom...

I'd like to hear the answer for this as well. Funny story though: my rear end went out while on a tight turn in the snow and my red tow hook took ALL of the impact into the landscaping. It was a very minor incident, but it was cool that the tow hook got bent out of whack and I drove away scot-free.

Regardless, because I tightened the aftermarket extender all the way down, the two parts are now threaded together...

I feel you. I saw your comments and have the exact same issue. My last post wasn't accurate, I have the retainer in the right place and everything.

Oh wow...the retainer. I put the retainer between the knob and the extension piece. Wow haha. Now I have a tall thin extension piece thoroughly tightened and will be tricky to back off.

Dang, I guess I just never noticed it spun before. How am I able to line the knob facing forward without having the ability to tighten the bottom?

In other words it's supposed to spin and I'm going crazy? Haha
