@webby - No I bailed on it. Every time I thought I had it figured out something else popped up and made it worse. It was so much worse than the TLX retro. And in the end I ended up parting ways with car. Now sitting in a 10th gen Si.
@Jaybe - Thanks, and I know the feeling about feeling like...
Didn't realize there was still this much interest in this mod. I can't post any pics or vids of it actually working, as I have since sold the car and didn't take any while it was installed.
I did pull the unit before selling the car, so I will try to get a pic or two of the harness I made as...
@ethlar - There really isn't that much space up top. Especially when the trim piece is put back in. But I do see your point. I do have the turn signal bars, but getting them in is most likely impossible.
On a side note, the build has stalled. :( Getting everything to line up and fit is proving...
Short answer to this is yes, the digital climate control can be made to work. But the AUTO part is not possible without some serious rewiring, besides the humidity sensor.
The auto function needs access to the outside temperature sensor and sunlight sensor on the dash. Both of which use a...
I will double check at work today, but I think the main audio power is 16 gauge wire.
Can't speak for the rest but I would assume they would be 18 or so.
As for their gauge selection, this is all speculation here, but the stereo doesn't have an amp in it (Ex-L).
So it is not pulling a great...
@webby - Haven't had time to work on the DIY, been busy as work, where I have access to Ai to make up all the diagrams.
As for the swap itself....you will need a radio code for the unit you are putting in. Honda changed the way the anit-theft system works. But you can still use a code to unlock...
@webby - I did not do a DIY, but easily could as it was really just making 3 harnesses, 2 based off of the connectors for the stereo(the main harness for the audio is the same, the iMid and bluetooth ones are different) and the last for the climate control....
Wasn't sure there'd be interest in...
Continued "confusing" my '13 Si.....
14-15 audio unit - fully functional minus lane watch and backup cameras - iMid display retained backup camera - all steering wheel controls retained
14-15 digital/auto climate control - climate controls fully function, auto feature does not work
Auto feature...
Thanks for all the input!
@bauer311 - I think I'm going to try to grow a cap for the light pipe at work, see if that helps it. SO glad I have access to a 3D printer for this one.
@Nomar06 - Parts are coming from ebay, I just stalk them until I find a light that is "cheap" relative to the...
After completing my TLX retrofit and more recently an Accord fog light "retrofit" - photos attached - I thought I might try something new.
Attached are some mock-ups of what a RDX jewel retrofit might look like, including the DRL light pipe. I have all the electronics figured out, it's...
@webby - That I did not. Honestly didn't think it was going to work out, so I didn't document it that much.
Long and short of it, extra set of fog light bezels and accord fogs(with trim) from ebay, then bondo, jb plastic weld, chicken wire, wood glue(seals the foam) and spray foam, and 10%...
@cpj762x51 - Love the brake setup!
After much "harassment" by my coworker about my none matching fog lights to my jewel eye headlights.
I went and did something about it. 2016 Accord LED fog light "retrofit?" Took some sculpting to kinda make it work.
Not sure how I feel about the look but the...
@cpj762x51 - Retrofit looks great. I like the look of the shroud you picked.
Trying something new....gloss black side mirrors....
Not sure how I feel about it... But it's only vinyl.
yeah, just a touch too wide. I have never been a fan of the "meaty" look. But I'm probably just not used to it.
Hoping the performance of the whole setup makes me forget about it. Because it is a really silly thing to get hung up on.
@hypedupninja - Thanks. I thought your setup looked a little different than mine. 225/40 R18
Kind of regretting that size after seeing the setup in person. But too late now. I'll just have to burn the BFGoodrich tires out that much faster.
@hypedupninja - you ever consider running spacers with the GPs? I ran bolt on 15mm ones so the HFP wheels I had would clear the Spoon Calipers.
And these now look a little "sucked in" by comparison. But I can't run the bolt on 15s, the studs wont fit in the GPs back...
So I got a great deal on a set of GP wheels. But the previous owner had them poorly coated gloss black. And when they did the prep work on them they blasted part of the gp logo off of one wheel. So they aren't perfect, but as it's not a show car, and for the price I paid for them, I can deal...
