If the '12 EX is similar to the '12 Fit, they included the CDV inside the Clutch Master Cylinder (not in a separate slave cylinder like the Si). If this is the case, the only way to do the CDV delete is to replace the entire CMC with one that does...
Bro I remember reading in a thread that the CDV for non-si's are located in the master cylinder, not the slave. It's not the same. I'll try to find the post, but its not in the same location
Honestly though, every new generation is always critiqued in terms of looks/performance. 9th gens got a lot of hate when they first came out but people love them now.
And in the defense of the newer civic, they do look better in person, from my experience. The coupe is actually pretty nice...

Nice, I have the same front lip, and I'm waiting to get it back from the paint shop. I also sent in that middle black piece to get matched as well after figuring out its removable.
