    bad throw out bearing?

Just as an update: I just got the car back from the dealer. Webby was right. There was a loose bolt that needed to be tightened. The issue with my ebrake is sorted out too. Turns out the new calipers I got were defective. Had Honda put OEM calipers on the back and now everything seems great. No...

    bad throw out bearing?

Yeah but a clutch is a clutch. It's not like I was asking them to bolt a turbo onto the thing. How is an aftermarket clutch Any different than OEM ? As far as the actual install goes?

    bad throw out bearing?

I figured a dealer would be a better place to go because they deal with Honda vehicles day in and day out. Most reputable shops would charge anywhere from $80-$100 an hour for labor anyways. As far as clutch master goes, everything I've read about them has been positive. All I know is the stock...

    bad throw out bearing?

It sounded great until the engine got warm and it was idling. That's only when it happens, so I didn't realize it until I got home. Clutch master emailed me and told me some vibrations were normal with that flywheel. But I just got to the point where I'm kind of pissed. I spent 2k to fix a...

    bad throw out bearing?

Yeah I plan on taking it to the dealer. It would just suck if it's the throw out bearing again. I don't think Honda will gaurantee their work, because I didn't use OEM parts. Here's the email clutch master sent me: "Yes, extra vibration can result after installing a performance flywheel. The...

    bad throw out bearing?

Just updating this thread. I purchased the fx100 clutch kit, street steel flywheel and master/slave cylinder from clutch master. I had the dealership install it. Ever since I've had this horrible rattling noise when the car is idling. It gets worst when the AC is on. I noticed I can get it to...

    bad throw out bearing?

Ok guys thanks for the help. But what's the deal with this whole balancing thing? Does the fx100 need to be balanced to the steel flywheel they sell?

    bad throw out bearing?

It's not just something I can do though. Id have to take it to a shop. I was planning on buying all the parts and taking it to the dealer to replace the clutch. I was told if you're doing the bearing, you might as well replace the entire clutch while you're at it. I'm a little confused on...

    bad throw out bearing?

No it's fine as long as I'm accelerating. But if I leave it in gear, let off the gas and the rpm drops, then it happens . It won't stop until I take it out of gear and let off the clutch. I also noticed it doesn't happen as frequently or at all in higher gears. I mostly notice it in third and...

    bad throw out bearing?

That's the noise I'm used to hearing if I shift just right. I was told by a dealership and forums that it was the throw out bearing. Now I'm hearing that noise but it's steady. If I shift up to third or fourth, stay in gear and let off the gas , that's usually what triggers it. It will stay...

    bad throw out bearing?

Thanks for answering my question. I might just stick to stock. I didn't realize it's virtually impossible to pass inspection with turbo. I'm pretty sure I'd have to swap all the stock parts back just to pass inspection. Which seems like a huge pain in my ***.

    bad throw out bearing?

So when I got my 2012 Civic si it had 74k miles on it and I found out from the dealer that the throw out bearing was on its way out but it didn't need to be replaced yet because the clutch had "plenty of life left". Well I think that life is coming to an end. At first I would only hear that...

    clutch replacement.

OK i went to the dealership today and drove around with the tech. He said that noise I hear when first starting out is definitely the throw-out bearing. The second noise, the one that I heard while I was in gear sounded like an exhaust rattle. So he put a new clamp in and fixed that second...

    clutch replacement.

Yeah. I just rewatched the second video and you're right it's hard to notice. I'm gonna go to the dealership tomorrow and update the thread when I get back. I did think of one other thing though. My left front axle started making a clicking noise months ago. The Honda tech told me it...

Has anybody had a chance to listen to that second video I posted? Does that grinding/rattling noise sound like a throwout bearing

    clutch replacement.

Ok so I was able to grab two videos on my phone duplicating the noises the best I can: This first video is the noise I've heard since I got the car. It only happens when I try shifting into first from a dead stop. Usually when I feather the clutch poorly or I'm stationary on a steep incline...

    clutch replacement.

@webby Yeah I saw that thread on the forum before I posted. That guy definitely got boned. Lol. I priced out a few different transmission shops in the area and most of them wanted between $800-$900 for the 10 hours labor. Honda quoted me roughly $1,000. Right now I'm leaning towards Honda just...

    clutch replacement.

I guess what I'm asking is if there's any advantage to paying the dealerships higher labor costs? Verses a local shop? Does the dealership provide a certain "warranty" on the work they do when it comes to clutches? @AlmosN8kd : Thanks for that info. I might just order the flywheel just incase...

Sorry for asking so many questions. But that's only if I get the work done through a dealership right?

    clutch replacement.

When you say "warranty" do you mean the limited 60,000 mile warranty? Or when I get the Honda oem clutch does that come with a warranty? I'll probably get the parts from hondapartsnow. Only because I've used that site before and it's the only one I know of.
