Every place I've checked online says A14 means you need to replace the timing belt but my car has a chain. The manual says change spark plugs or check valve clearance. I changed the spark plugs 4 months ago and I can see a valve clearance problem. Any ideas why I'm getting A14 ? Thx

A14

a- change oil
1- rotate tires

After x amount of miles the valves can be out of spec. It can hurt performance and hurt gas mileage etc.

These maint. minders just go off after XX miles and things that should be done, heat cycles wear items and things go out of spec. Like hitting a curb can throw out that tires alignment. I did valve job at ~180k when it was due again. I skipped the first time cause of money. Honda stealership wanted $800 and figured I was there for a recall might as well get it done too.

It doesn't call for "drive" belt but there's a serp belt for the accessories like a/c and alternator. Just check if there are cracks or missing teeth and replace if it does
