I'm quickly discovering that there are limited DIY technical resources on the web for the Honda Pilot. There is a forum, which I joined, but it's just lacking something...something that 9th Civic definitely does not.

To make a short story long, I just traded my wife's 2012 Ody for a 2014 Pilot EX-L w/Navi. I am specifically trying to find out how to remove the chrome trim piece above the license plate on the tailgate. I want to plasti-dip this part white (the Pilot is Taffy), but I would like to remove it and do the plasti-dip in a climate controlled environment. Anyway, I find resources for the 2003 model (previous generation) all over, but nothing for the current generation Pilot.

I figure if there was a place to find Honda expertise, this would be it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Looks like there are a handful of clips, but it's also under the "h" badge. I'd advise you to do the plasti with that all still on the car. The "h" looks to have 2 prongs and I can't imagine how that can be popped from the inside of the tailgate. If you try from the outside, I'd see those two prongs breaking. Do earlier versions have it the same way? Did they pop it from inside somehow?

I tried it without removing the part, but failed miserably. I think it's too cold out right now. I'll make another attempt when it gets warmer. As always Webby, thanks for your help!

@CollegeHillsHonda are always a great resource. :thumb:
Yeah, and they are less than an hour away from me. However, they don't have the pdf on their website for the particular information I'm looking for. I suppose I could shoot them an email or talk to the guys in service at my dealer.
