Civic rattling when cold

Civic 2013 LX 1.8L. Every morning (even now when air temperatures are 40-50F early) when i start a car it is all good but when i switch gear into a D something is rattling.When i go back to P there is no rattling.It goes away when car warms up.What is this and how can it be fixed?

Heat shields are the rattling devil. Also brake shields.
 
potentially a heat shield by the exhaust. This shows a similar issue on a cat, but you get the idea. I don't know if you have ramps or if you can get under the car to see if you have a heat shield rubbing your exhaust?

I thought this was a common problem in this car. People in diffrent groups were pointing that this may be caused by the belt tensioner but when the car gets warmer it stops so this doesnt make sense.
 
Belt tensioner would be a grind. Try holding your upper motor mount next time you start the car. If u can give it some pressure and it stops that’s ur problem.

Mom’s car had a heat shield that would rattle like yours only when put into gear and usually only when cold. Put it into neutral or park and it went away.
 
just turn up the radio and forget about, My SRT-4 gets all kinds of strange noises:worms::giggle:
