Hello everyone, my name is Alberto, im 23, i am a personal banker and college student and I live in Chicagoland (near Batavia, IL)

I had purchased a 2013 Subaru WRX, pretty much the car of my dreams, but life decided to b*tch slap-me in the face and my economic standpoint went downhill really fast. So i went back to the dealership and surrendered the car, and I was able to get into a 2012 Honda Civic Si.

It is not my first honda ever... my first car back in 2008 was a 1997 Honda Civic DX

Followed by a 94 Integra (worst decision ever, spent over $5k in repairs, eventually junked it and got a 2012 Lancer with 07 miles on it, then traded in the lancer for the WRX)

But anyways like I said, life was good, i had my WRX <3 but life can be mean and make you loose something you love, hah.

So now I have a 2012 Honda Civic Si... this time I plan on keeping this car for a minimum of 4 years.

As far as mods go I wont do "much"

- 6000K HID
- 40% tint all around
- Exhaust - probably the Injen axleback, I liked the sound clip, it sounded really deep, but if anyone has other suggestions, also thinking about the Greddy SP elite.
- Short Ram Intake.... the subaru is still in me, i love driving through puddles, so a CAI would be suicidal for me haha, I am looking for a SRI with an airbox with still functionality of the OEM ram air, so perhaps the K & N SRI.
- PIAA or HELLA yellow bulbs for my fogs.
- Continental DWS tires
- BBS look-a-like mesh wheels or Sparco Asseto wheels, 17 inch.
- Lower car, no more than 2 inches, either springs or coilovers.
- Spacers... probably 15 mm.

And I believe thats it... well more pics, hope to meet some local people too!

Sorry to hear about the wrx, but welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have quite the list of plans for it already.

Thank you, but its okay, the WRX is just a car, and cars can be replaced, just gotta get back on my feet financially.

I will be keeping the Civic for 4-5 years, try to pay it off as soon as possible as soon as i get a job at a better bank haha.

That is pretty much the full list of things I want to do to my Civic, I don't wanna go crazy, yeah, going from an AWD turbo WRX to a FWD (again) stings a little, but hey... at least its an Si, 6 speed, gets +30 MPG (compared to 17 MPG on the WRX lol) has a sunroof, and a killer sound system... so its not so bad.

Added bonus: women seem to like my civic more than the WRX hahaha, number of compliments on the civic so far: 10, the WRX never go any love haha.

Quick question to my 9th gen experts, I am looking at Square wheels G6, 17X9 ... what tire size should I get? 235 40 r17?

Welcome to the site! You can even run 245/40/17 on that setup. But it really depends how low you want to go or the wheel offset.

Thanks, lowest id go is 2 inches, G6 wheels are
SQUARE Wheels G6 Model - 17x9 +15 4x114.3 (set of 4)

I honestly consisted swapping my WRX for another Si, then bought an Evo. You're better off with the Civic. Less stuff to worry about in the long run.

Yeah, maybe I'll keep te civic as a daily for a really long Time and buy an older STi as a toy when I'm rich. I live in Illinois and it snows for like 6-7 months here and the AWD is nice.

I was thinking of switching to a wrx? Or keeping the civic I have but that will be costly. Sorry to hear this but on the brightside you have enough money for mods

Nothing a set of winter tires can't handle. I've owned FWD, RWD, and AWD here in Chicago.
Threw Blizzaks on my 8th Civic, and 350Z. Another brand on my WRX. No issues whatsoever.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you like the car and that things are working out for you.

Thanks, lowest id go is 2 inches, G6 wheels are
SQUARE Wheels G6 Model - 17x9 +15 4x114.3 (set of 4)

Also, you need 5x114.3 not 4x114.3

x9 +15 is pretty aggressive. You would rub for sure with such wide tires.

Also I just wanted to know if any of you guys from chicago are going to another level car show on the 16th? It in boomers stadium at schamburg?
