Kia Sorrento Gas Pedal Stuck 120mph

Not surprising sorry to say but Kia can't make a good car without something going wrong. One of the Kia's around here literally lit on fire on the highway

Nonsense. I guess Toyota can't make a good car as well since they had a gas and brake pedal recall a couple of years ago. Come to think of it, recalls for different reasons for Honda, Nissan, Chevy, ford, dodge, etc.

exactly keith. "kia can't make a good car" is completely obtuse and uninformed.
also, what kind of retard doesn't just push the car into neutral. seriously? how hard is that?

The emergency brakes should be able to slow the car down. I don't get how a crossover would still go over 100mph with the e-brakes and the brakes applied to it. Also, couldn't she have just pushed the gear to neutral? It shouldn't get stuck on drive like that.

This is also a good reason why driving stick is beneficial. If the manual car doesn't want to go on neutral for some odd reason, just press the clutch pedal.

e-Brake will NOT begin to slow any car if the accelerator is pushed down and the car is going above about 20 mph on a level road.
The brakes quickly overheat and friction is greatly reduced.
Most cars can not stop using the regular brakes if the car is moving and the engine/tranny is held in the power band.
If you want to try it be prepared to rework the entire braking system.

Clutch, neutral, ignition off, running out of fuel, or truck escape ramp (maybe) are the only way to go. Hope it never happens to you.

Either every single safety feature in the Kia failed at the same time, which I have a hard time seeing, or she was so scared and panicked she didn't try anything to stop, which I am saying happened.... I am glad she is safe and sound but maybe it's time to learn how to make decisions under stressful situations....

Hmm, as for the Toyota recall..it was because the mats didn't have a locking tab/hook so it caused it to shift around, and also as for the pedal..it wasn't sticking..it was because the accelerator pedal was too long and the bottom end kept on grabbing the mats. The only way to solve that problem was to trim down about 1-3 inches of it and put it back together.

LOL, yea I remember that! She was just trying to VTEC in her Toyota.

Lmao at least I'm not the only one who recalls that incident

You got VTEC and TURBO! Ever have an excuse when your turbo is lagging like.."H.O.B.L." = "Hold On Boost Loading"
