See above. What's the best way to remove it without making it worse?

He's going to take it to get detailed and fixed again, but what's the best way to get it off prior?

He found it before he got in to go to work, so we don't really know how long ago it was. Earliest it could of been was two hours ago.

That sucks man! Nothing I hate more than seeing crap like this.

FYI, it's the impact of the egg shell that pits into the paint, causing the image you see below...though you still want to get the egg off the paint ASAP too.

I would try towels soaked in warm water - placed over the areas for several minutes, then gently rinse/wipe. Do this repeatedly a few times to remove the egg.
 
I agree with the soaked towel, it does a great job on dried bugs.......... And no chemicals ........... I use to get spider cracks in my face shield(mc) using cleaners, and went to the wet with water towel trick, and no more cracks and it's easier to get them off after a short soak.................... Great tip
