i have the 2012 LX with hubcaps (horrified look). i want to get rid of them but not sure what to do. my last car was an RSX which came with nice wheels that i never had to touch so i dont know much about changing the wheels.. apparently the stock size for my LX is 15 inch..

i dont want to waste massive money getting new tires and such if i go bigger, im looking for advice to get nice looking wheels which are affordable.

if i go for something like this:
http://www.readywheels.com/xxr-520-multi-spoke-38-15-5x114-xxr-gold-gloss-color-rims.html

do i need new tires? just concerned cause these wheels say 15x6.5 but stock im pretty sure is 15x6. stock tire size for the LX is P195/65R15 but the website suggests P195/60R15 and P195/50R15 for these wheels.

otherwise, i guess i can go for these; http://www.readywheels.com/xxr-8-5-spoke-42-15-5x114-xxr-machined-w-silver-color-rims.html

do you think 15 inch wheels will look dumb? will lowering the car help it look better?

what are some good sites to look for wheels and tires? and if i do decide to go bigger, let's say 16 or 17s, would you recommend lowering the car?

any advice plz :)

you'd be fine with the stock tires on a 6.5" rim. 60 or 50 series will just be shrinking the sidewall of the tire. If you do that, you'd throw off your odometer etc. Just use your stock tires.

here are some 15's on the 9th gen ^

pssstitsmike is also on 15's below

www.discounttire.com and www.tirerack.com are both good sites for wheels in a wide range of prices.

thanks for the help. i bought em and got them put on. they fit great. thing is.. what wheel locks will fit with these aftermarket wheels? can i use the stock oem wheel lock set that the dealer sells? i bought a gorilla set on amazon that normally fits the honda civic and it didnt fit with the new wheels so i have to return them.

the ones i originally ordered on amazon were acorn 12 mm x 1.50" with the key and i was not able to put them on, the key was too large to fit into the bolt holes if that makes any sense

well those are lug nuts. i have lug nuts on right now that fit. but i wanted to get a set of wheel locks for some protection

Wheel locks aren't much security at all. There are hardened tools that have spiral grooves cut into them that you can pound on a rounded off lug nut and remove it. It also works for wheel locks.... I am sure that career criminals know this. If they want them, they will get them.

That said, they may provide some protection from the run of the mill person that would possibly rip off a set of wheels. Your mileage may vary.

Going to a bigger wheel will not reduce the gap from tire to wheel opening, since the plus size tire would be very close to the same overall diameter as the 15's. A shorter sidewall will aid in steering response, but also there is a drawback, as in winter / adverse driving conditions.

Lowering the car can cause other issues, such as changing the roll center, increasing bump steer, and make the car bottom out easier. That said, it looks better with a slight drop.

I understand that they can still take them but I do think it is SOME security added with wheel locks. I also bought a good after market alarm I will have installed very soon. I am just trying to do what I can to protect them. They weren't terribly expensive and considering theyre only 15s, I hope nobody will want them but regardless I don't want to be naive and make it easy for someone to steal. I am just having a hard time finding a set of wheel locks that fit my LX with these aftermarket wheels.

Regarding wheel-locks, I use them too, I'm a believer that we don't need to take our wheels off and load them next to our car every night on a pallet. It's the dumb thieves that will go somewhere else............... The alarm is the way to go.............. Did you get one with a pager?
