I second squiggy on hearing good things from people about the H&R springs.

You can always start with springs and once the stock struts let go, which they will, then consider either the jump to a coil over setup or a Koni based one.

With the Si you also have the choice of the HFP suspension. I think the drop has been reported to be much larger than it was in the past.


Also, which part of the country do you live in and what's your budget?

Nix, I live in LA so the only headache would be the cops. Lol....yeah coils may be something I'll consider down the road. For budget, looking for something $150-$250. Lower the better, of course. Lol

I see. Yeah, start with a decent set of springs then. H&Rs are quite popular. You can definitely run coils later on and being in LA, you won't have to worry about a thing with the weather. Get a reputable set of springs too. Some of the extremely cheap ones aren't worth it at all. The $200 range should give you a nice selection without breaking the bank.

And stay away from super cheap coilovers!

Holy Crapo. That's as worst as my ball joint snapping on my DC2 while making a turn at 45mph. Shits....

For now, I'm debating either H&R Sport or Eibach Prokit. I heard the sportlines are too low and rear will require a camber kit.

I just wasn't to eliminate the fender gap and keep it flush.

I don't get why people would buy coilovers that cost $300 new and expect to be as good as coilovers that cost $1k and more. :pat:

They do have some. But from what I understand the fronts are cartridges and you have to use your stock shock body. And they are a lot more expensive.

Yeah, you have to cut the stock strut. I am hoping they will come out with a yellow or orange one piece unit. I would prefer yellow as it is geared at performance street driving and the orange is more or less and OEM replacement. The price doesn't bother me too much.

From what I understood the orange is the same as the yellow minus the adjustment knob for stiffness. I could be wrong though. But it would be nice if they released a bolt in front.

It's a big drop. They will definitely wear your struts but it just depends how low you want to be. If you're looking for a moderate drop with a decent ride the skunks are far beyond that. I don't think they ride horribly from what I've read but they are definitely going to be more harsh/less travel than the H&R or Eibachs.

Prokit. The sport lines are in the same 2" drop range that the skunk springs are in. The prokit are a 1" approximately while the H&R are closer to 1.5" and I believe the skunk2/sportlines are 2"-ish.

Ok. I'm definitely leaning towards H&R. Sorry man. Totally newb on this car. My DC2 was easier. Lol

This was my car on Eibach sportline springs. It was clunky on every little bump on the road, now I'm back to stock ride height.

Nope, but the inner fender clip that's in the middle is now gone.
