    The "pop" of the release of the latch is still there, but the trunk lid does not lift. It does not effect the way it works, trunk still opens normally, absolutely no adverse effects with this mod.

    It allows you to remove the torsion bars and utilize stock speaker locations in the rear deck of the 9th gen coupe. Upgrading speakers/sub woofer.

    I looked at using lift struts, but could not find them short enough for my liking, so I went this route. Found a good spot on the trunk wall to mount Used a brass bushing in the hinge bar Drilled and mounted Then cut carpet to complete, about a 45 min job

    Looked at a couple lift support "pistons", to use on the "hinge" bars ( not sure of correct term), none seem to look usable. I was wanting to mount them on the back of the rear seat, the part that does not fold down. What I did find that will work are these...
