This new Alpha Series Race Header for the 2012+ Honda Civic Si is the perfect complement to the recently released MegaPower RR exhaust. It will provide maximum exhaust flow, which is especially important if you have other modifications (such as an intake, FlashPro, etc.) that increase the amount of air going into your engine. Without this Alpha Header, you will experience exhaust flow restriction from the factory header (which is actually a header / downpipe for this application).

Header Design:
This Skunk2 Alpha Series Race Header features a large 4 inch bellmouth design with 3 inch outlet is manufactured from high quality cast stainless steel for superior heat resistance and strength. This design enables maximum extraction of air flow and increased power. Heavy duty 1/2” thick flanges ensure secure and leak free attachments. Air flows smoothly through mandrel bent T-304 stainless steel and a high quality stainless steel braided flex section. The one piece design eliminates the need for the catalytic converter maximizing air flow and allowing for maximum power. Bungs are also included for the OEM O2 sensors. No modifications are needed as it is a direct bolt-on unit to the OEM exhaust cat-back location.

It should be I have the rv6 catless and I can really feel the difference it made by removing the factory double cat.

"It depends" is the best answer. On the 8th Gen Si's, it seemed almost random which cars would get these CELs and which ones wouldn't, even assuming they were running the exact same header. Luckily, there is a simple mechanical part you can install to eliminate this type of CEL: http://www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/category-70_129/product-1032/index.html

We sell a ton of them because it's so easy to install and works great.

In any case, this kind of CEL is harmless, and the main point of using the above product is just to get rid of the light from your dash.

Also, for those of you wanting a catted version of this header, I can tell you that I doubt Skunk2 will make one. Skunk2's parts are designed for maximum power, and people who track their cars want exactly this. This MagnaFlow HF Cat is a great quality one, and it's very compact so it will fit into tight spaces as well. Any decent muffler shop can install this on your current exhaust system. Oftentimes the cats that come with headers are not that great anyways, so at least this way you know you're getting a good cat. Of course, check your local laws to make sure you can do this modification. Some states, like Cali, won't allow it.

Also, thought you guys might want to see this. The K24Z7 is turning out to be quite a potent engine when modded:

Here is a dynograph of the Skunk2 Megapower RR 76mm exhaust used in conjunction with the Skunk2 Alpha Header vs. stock. Notice the two major dips at 5400 rpm and 6500 rpm on the stock graph where the 2 (yes, two) OEM cats are robbing power. The Skunk2 downpipe lifts the power significantly in these sections. With the Skunk2 exhaust and downpipe used together, at 6500 rpm there is a 28 wheel horsepower gain! And that's without any FlashPro tuning at all. Skunk2 actually said when they did this test the car was running rich, so there is definitely more power to be gained with a good FlashPro tune.
