2013 Ford Shelby GT500 delivers 650 HP and 200 MPH straight from the factory

I wonder if they had bad times at the ring, or problems.... or whatever? Regardless, I'm curious to see what the final outcome will be.

 when 650hp and 200mph isn't enough, you can opt for the 800hp version. :omg:

I do like the sound of the Super Snake.

Ford says the gt500 has the most powerful production v8 in the world

SAE ratings released by Ford today state that the eight-cylinder unit has a peak output of 662-horsepower and 631 lb.-ft. (856Nm) of torque.
Ford says that these results make the supercharged engine the most powerful production V8 in the world.

I'm looking on the Ford site, which specifies 650 HP @ 6,250 rpm / 600 lb.ft. @ 4,000 rpm

In any case, it needs that to get out of it's own way at 3850 lb.

I love how Ford touts it having 12 more HP than the ZR1, but neglect to mention the ZR1 weighs 3353 lb (500 lb less). :pat:

did they brag about it beating the zr1 on their website?

also, maybe they should let their "ring" times talk instead of just hp figures?

The Mustang has pretty much bested the Camaro in recent comparisons, a solid axle isn't as detrimental as editors would have you believe, GM is probably gonna eat their words.

Just a 5.0 Gt is enough to for me, just so it has Recaros, I couldn't imagine having 650hp under my foot.

That video made me LOL. I saw it right before i read this thread.

Something about trying to put 600whp to the ground sounds intimidating.

Of course, you know next year Chevrolet is going to attempt to one-up them.
