well 7.5" wheels will be able same width as stock (0.5" wider) so it will give same "dinky" appearance

wider wheels make the car look tougher

oh so the second number is just the width...yea i would go wider, i'm just worried about fitment.
what do you think is the widest i can go without any issues?
i would go with 18" for sure

All depends on your suspension, but you wouldn't have issues on 8 wide. Some are on 9.75 wide, but they're stretching tires etc.

yeah if you want just a nice fitment 8" wide you'll have zero issues

Tyler (TySI) has 18x8 +35 and it's a perfect fitment
