Audio Equip Under Warranty?

Hey,

This is my first post so I am not sure if I have put it in the correct place.

I just bought a certified 14 SI sedan last month and recently I noticed that the passenger tweeter is blown out as it rattles at certain base levels. I wanted to know if the warranty will cover the tweeter? Should I take it to a Honda Dealership and ask them?

Any information helps.

I'd take it back for sure. They should cover it especially if you say it's been doing it since you picked up the car.

I assume you mean bass. The tweeter is for upper ranges. If there is a rattle, it's probably not the speaker. It might be the mount. Honda (like most car companies) uses a cheap resistor/capacitor "cross-over" to prevent low frequencies from going to the tweeter. This low-budget tank circuit stops most of the lower frequencies. If it works normally until you get to high volume levels and then it rattles, sounds more like sympathetic vibration.

Now, after all of that...take it to the dealer and ask why it rattles.
