bmw 1 series M - only being produced for 2011

I saw one of these in the wild a few days back. It was the nicest 1 series I've ever seen, which isn't that surprising. Love the quad exhausts on the M vehicles.

L.A.'s Bank Tower features the tallest building-based helipad. Not exactly the place you'd expect to find the BMW 1M drifting to the edge. Here's video of the 1M doing it

A co-worker just ordered a 1M, he's a big BMW nut and dumped most of his life savings to pay cash (dumb, I know), on the premise that it's gonna be a big collector's item in the years coming :confused:
 
so, is he going to drive it, or he's putting it into storage to resell it some day?
 
My friend's dad is doing the euro delivery on his soon.. Hopefully I'll get some pics in person when he gets it.
