hopefully all the past atendees here will attend.

Im running into a bit of a snag because Cookstar suggested that it's an entirely new meet and keep the 8th meet separate, I want a decent turnout with some returning attendees, but not involving the admins/owners of 8thcivic, imo there presence in the past two years has not contributed to anything, if anything they just cast a dark cloud over the meet.
You can see the current calendar and past year's calendars: http://tailofthedragon.com/calendar.html

The odds of me going to a separate 8thDragon meet are extremely slim if there is a 9thDragon meet (where people I want to hang out with would attend).

Seeing as the 8th meet has been this specific weekend for the last 5 years, what happens if someone over there decides to make it the same weekend?

that's why I wanted to have just one meet and put it under the 9thcivic name, I really dont wanna get involved with the owners of 8thcivic

I'm just saying that there may be this scenario:

You arrange 9thcivic meet for sept 9-11
Someone on 8th keeps tradition going and creates 8thcivic meet the same weekend.

Problem.

I'm pretty sure the 8th meet will be the same weekend it has always been. Usually Cook talks to Fontana and tells them we will be coming back the same time the next year.

Making it a different time and a smaller crowd would make things easier and better IMO. The first 2 Dragon meets were prob the best along with the one year the Fla crew and the BMW invaded the meet.

My .02 - Ya. 9th tight. Diff weekend.

September weekends this year: 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30

So 8th meet likely 8-9. The rotaxs' busy that weekend anyway.... umm what about 15-16?

Hopefully we'll either be married for a month by then...or getting married in a few months after :rotfl:

Whoo! Nice. Either way its a lot of fun.

Any recommended "training" from past dragon-ers?

twistie roads. slalom around islands in parking lots (don't hit the curb!).

Realistically, you are in 2nd (Si) for most of the road. For rookies, the major key is to have the correct corner entry speed. If you enter too fast, you'll have to get on the brakes mid-corner and if you have veterans behind you, that will piss them off royally :giggle:

kind of confused as to the intent... making a 9th meet a different weekend, but asking past attendees to go to this meet instead of a potential one on 8th? Or you're thinking some will go to both meets, or? Is there an official person organizing a meet on 8th instead of cook?

Cookstar really did not want to organize last year's 8th meet, and told me it would be his last. I don't know who else would step up from 8th.

seems a couple of people are fighting it out to be the leader

I was gonna do the 8th meet this year but I have far more loyality to this site, at the same time I dont wanna turn my back on the members of 8thcivic that are interested. I can stick to 8thcivic and someone here organizes a small 9thcivic meet at the same time. its just an idea but Ive already contacted fontana telling them that there will be another meet again this year

If the meet is the same time as the 8th site meet, I think there will be users who avoid it. Especially if cook isn't heading it up, or if the owners get involved.

Yea, I didnt think the owners of 8th would bother with 9thcivic people, but that wont be the intent. I can just continue with 8ccd vii and there can be an unrelated 9th meet with no dedicated itinerary. I didnt plan on much of an itinerary for the meet anyway, just hang out and drive.

I got some big plans and im trying to work on getting a few special things for everyone. Even if Chris feels like the planning is too much to undertake, We are still going to plan a meet and continue on his tradition! He did an awesome job and hope he can just come and hang out. :)

I was thinking keep to the same time frame as it always was. So second weekend in September, so the 6th, 7th and 8th
