You think if I install a amp in my car but keep the stock headunit I would loose my controls on my steering wheel?

I can confirm.. with the 9th gen, adding an amp, replacing an amp, adding sub/replacing sub will not hinder your steering wheel controls, the commands from your steering wheel go to your Alpine head unit, which sends audio via pre-amp outputs to an amp (if you have premium sound)http://9thcivic.com/forum/threads/add-subwoofer-to-premium-sound.2182/
negative... the 8th retained it's steering wheel controls when adding just an amp
