Samsung Galaxy 2 and my usb

It's my understanding that the audio system will not recognize a Samsung Galaxy 2 as an audio player.
Page 172 of the Civic Coupe Owner's Manual (or page 176 of the Sedan manual) states that only Apple iPods and certain USB flash drives are recognized by the system.

I could be wrong of course since I have neither the car nor the phone, so maybe someone else might chime in and have a solution.
 
Most phones and portable hard drives draw too much power via USB to work also as an MP3 player. My Galaxy Nexus doesn't do it either. But the Bluetooth streams whatever you play. So you could pair the phone, then just launch your Google Music (or whatever your preferred audio app is) and hit play on the phone, put the phone away, and use the play controls from the car. The only downside I've noticed is that it doesn't have the audio ID3 (or other info), So I still keep my phone docked and visible.
