freddi's build thread!! finally lol.

Love the car and build. You have more patience than I do. Missing fuses and labor doesn't add up to $100+ to me. I'd already flipped out.

I do have a lot of patience. I just won't go back there again. I'm not that strong willed to have made a scene I just wanted my car back. :(

My car is my "daughter". I know I'd want mine back ASAP but you work hard for your money (which $100 could be used for gas/mods).
But if you're okay with it and just getting your Siri back- so are we. :grouphug:

:eek2: That has to be one of the craziest things I've ever heard of to "lose" a fuse!
It's good to hear you got your baby back though! :domokundance:

i hate how some dealerships take advantage of people that arent that noledgable when it comes to cars it just makes me sick !!!!
one day they are gonna lie to the wrong person and send their car through the show room floor lol.

Um so I washed my car n waxed her. She was parked for about an a hour or so with music n playing but ignition off. I've done this several times before. But my battery is now dead. This is frustrating. On Saturday two days after I picked up the car I went to start it and it started funny like it wasnt getting enough from the battery but it started so I brushed it off. But now it's dead. The lights were not on, jus the radio.

Yes. The car was running before cuz I was out with it for the afternoon.
"To make a short story long" ..... You need to actually check the cables to the battery, because the car can work fine if you drive it on a regular bases, but can drain with a bad connection when using electrical car parts while off. If they're tight, then check the battery with a multi-meter. Just go to an auto parts store and have them test it. it's free at most stores(hoping you buy from them if needed).

It could be because the daytime running lights were on if you have the lights set to auto.

You have Navi or Premium Audio? If you have the premium audio, it could be due to the draw from the amp.

I'd agree if only I haven't done this all before, for even longer periods of time. Daytime lights werent on, I'd notice since I was washing her. Only navi was on. Occasionally I opened the door but that's all. I did this like every two weeks last summer, took longer back then cuz I didn't have help every time. Car radio blasting for like 2+ hours, sans engine on. Always started up perfect after. Sometimes at school if I have a long break, I do the same. So becuz the car was ****** last week, I'm very suspicious. I'm gon bring it to Honda, my usual dealership and make them check everything. Cuz even last Saturday it started up funny, but I jus brushed it off. N that was on first start up of the day.

Or defective battery ?
When i went for my first oil change they did the inspection of all my other vital stuff and they told me my battery had to be changed out because it wasent holding a charge right they said they had about 8 - 9 civics come in for the same thing so maybe thats it ??

A couple of things about lights inside and out on our cars.......... DTR lights will not come on with the key set in 1/2/ or even engine running...."IF" .... You have the hand brake on "BEFORE" turning on the key !

As for the inside lights, if they are set to turn off after a certain time, they will still turn off if the doors are left open after a couple of min. ..Also the same with the trunk light.

Now some breaking news on batt's in the last 4-5 years, America(USA anyway) sold all/most of our minded lead to China, and since then we've been having problems with the quality of them............ What we use to get out of our batt's now is far less than the past. One thing that we can do is proper Battery' maintenance, and there is no longer any reason anyone can't trickle charge their batt' (Goggle solar car batt' chargers for dash boards), They are about the same price as the non solar and they connect though the "cig" (power) port.

I repeat, on every thread, batt's need to be fully charged from time to time(and driving your car for 20 min(even hours), isn't going to bring the battery up past 80 - 85%........"New batt's" in most cases will need to be(and should be) charged.... as they are being sold from most stores that don't do a 100% charge before letting you have it. (there are some that do it correctly, but you won't know if it's yours, because they all will say it was done) "Do it yourself".......
