yeah, we discussed that a few months ago, but i think the better tires and more grip would outweigh being heavier. im also cheap and dont want to buy two rims.

I'm 1 minute in and can agree so far. German cars suck. Chevy is surprisingly easy to work on. New job makes me work on more off brands than my last. I did a front belt buckle the other day on a newer Tahoe and was able to do it easily without taking the seat out. Rear dvd screen took 5 minutes to replace. If it were a Chrysler I'd have to take 90% of the seat apart. I'll continue to watch and update.

Edit. That's a long video. But I disagree with the chrysler rating. They have their moments but I work on them all day so I don't find them hard.
Also I did a quick Google search on weight of rims for drag racing and they really don't seem to make a difference. Most of the difference would be in road racing. I may remove my rear seat, passenger front seat and spare tire stuff this year and see how it goes with a couple drag radials with a good size side wall.

i want to argue their porsche issues but i think its heavily era and model dependent

I was off today to help my dad. Usually my mom picks him up after his State seasonal job is over (March-December) but she's watching my nephew so I offered to pick my dad up and go to lunch with him and his boss/co-worker.

LOOKs like putting a 245 on a 6.5 inch wide rim isn't a good idea.


Edit: looks like my $500 idea has turned into a $1000 idea.

I could get skunk2 drop in cams for $1400 but still have no traction off the line.

I thought I edited my last post twice but I guess not.

Found a set of 16x8 rims on marketplace for $160 and they're real rims!
They're in Vancouver and we're heading there Sunday anyways. I'll have to buy the drag radials if I get these.
Brand new pair of Work Ryver Xross wheels 16x8+48 4x114 and 5x114

No center caps though.

From a quick search.....some aftermarket 16s fit but mainly it is said that 16" steelies work.

Take the Si to pick them up and test fit on site???

Ah. But not all steelies fit. I had someone on a 9th gen Facebook group have an issue with a set not fitting the front of his si. I suspect if they don't fit I would just need a small spacer.
I don't want to take my car over there, and I'm too lazy to test fit.
