^ that is pretty wild. I wish someone who knew a lot about it would go and document what they found on that car to try and figure out what the real story is.

I reached out to ask for more pics and vids (that's how I got the VIN); but the dude says he's afraid to operate the top mechanism without someone else there which sort of proves my point that it isn't in the hands of a 3/S enthusiast. From what I recall, about a year ago, this car was at a used car dealer in TN for less than $10k and disappeared pretty quickly; now, every few months, it keeps popping up on FB Marketplace with this insane price tag, making me think this guy bought it to flip it for insane profit, trying to bank on the uniqueness of the car and the dangerously low miles (I bet every seal on that car is going to leak after it gets up to operating temp a few times), and is basically a scam of sorts (it could be the owner of the dealership trying to market the car independently based on the huge number of queries they received at the dealership when it went on sale a year ago). Lots more speculation there, but, the seller doesn't seem to know much and isn't willing to make the effort to demonstrate the legitimacy for that $40k asking price.^ that is pretty wild. Yeah, don't ask questions, just pay a huge price and 'save' this car. But, for it to be a true 'museum' car, it has to have verified pedigree; I don't think real collectors are going to just take his word for things. He told me he's had offers ranging from $28k - $32k, yet hasn't accepted them (otherwise, it wouldn't still be for sale?).Just his "museum" comment tells you his intentions or wishes.

Maybe that was his donor car for the Spyder…?
I mean do we need to go back through this thread to see how many things are 10-20k+ over their original msrp? I honestly thought that listing might excite you for the mileage alone.Close to $4,000 more than the original msrp? hard pass.....
Maybe if it was the next gen body…and you know this dealer is just basically flipping it. Prob got it for $10k less than asking price.I mean do we need to go back through this thread to see how many things are 10-20k+ over their original msrp? Man, as I was scrolling, I almost thought this was one of the 499 Cobra convertibles with the hardtop; but, then I saw the year (it was a '95 only thing) . . .
