I love the blue!
I thought a "bid to" does not equate to a sale.....perhaps if they got a deal after the auction ended?

It's because it was a model year 1999, 6 spd, black color with tan leather interior chrome rims, with fog lamps, built on a Tuesday and sold on a Saturday.1 of only 287 produced and sold in the US (listing description says 212, no idea where they're getting that number):

I mean, if you really want to break it down Corvette style:It's because it was a model year 1999, 6 spd, black color with tan leather interior chrome rims, with fog lamps, built on a Tuesday and sold on a Saturday.![]()

Yeah, I used that in some of the numbers from this post:
I mean, if you really want to break it down Corvette style:
1 of 16,352 3000GTs built in black (some of the early production numbers are not known so there may be more)
1 of 5,204 3000GTs built in Solano Black Pearl (1996-1999)
1 of 3,267 3000GTs built in 1999
1 of 3,033 3000GT VR-4s in black (1991-1999, there were 3 shades of black were used)
1 of 964 3000GTs built in 1999 in Solano Black Pearl (it is the 2nd most abundant color that year)
1 of 479 3000GT VR-4s built in Solano Black Pearl (1996-1999)
1 of 287 3000GT VR-4s built in 1999
1 of 103 3000GT VR-4s built in 1999 in Solano Black Pearl (it is the most common color for 99 VR-4s)
There was a way to break it down by production cycle each month (there were 3 production cycles per month) based on the VIN; however, that database doesn't seem to be available at the moment.

So, overall, I think they're reasonably accurate (or, at a minimum, it is the same data just recycled into a different format); but, there isn't much to go on to actually cross reference them other than the CAPS or ASA (ASA = Aftersale Support Application - it replaced CAPS) databases. But, if you do add the numbers up for the 99 model year for VR-4s on the 3SGTO page that you linked, you'll still see, there were 287. So, even with the most 'limited' number of 1 of 103 in Solano Black Pearl, I'm not sure where the guy got 212. Maybe it was a typo or fog of memory. Maybe it is because this is 1 of 212 Z16A cars (I think there were a few produced with the Z15A chassis (no All-Wheel Steering) but I don't know that for sure, just kinda guessing on that one). Or, perhaps he wants it to seem more 'rare' than it actually is. Regardless, even with all of that, it is still not the most rare VR-4 (that would be 1998 with 231) nor the most rare 3000GT/Stealth (that would be 1996 with 57 Stealth R/T Twin Turbos (fun fact, these are all Z15A cars)); but, it is one of the most desired since it was the last model year and had a facelift at the end that most folks like the look of (myself included).@AlmosN8kd prob knows best. No clue if those forum numbers are accurate
