Official Computer Talk Thread

"ASUS, which is well-known for ridiculously high prices, also announced a price hike recently, but Corsair is doing it sneakily. Increasing the price by $800 significantly diminishes the PC's value, and sadly, there is nothing anyone can do except call them out. Due to such reasons, we recommend users to build their own PCs by buying parts separately."

because buying the parts individually saves you so much money

Switched up our internet service with our local carrier today. I got a mailer last week advertising faster speed and lower price than what we had for the past couple years and it is not a one year promo price.

So now we have 1 gig service for $70 a month. Previously we had tier 3 of 4(1 being fastest) for $92 a month which showed a "speed test" of 600ish down and 20 up on a wired connection.

Also got a mesh wifi service that's included in the $70. So now I have the main mesh unit in the same spot the router was at previously and have a second unit on the other side of the house, closer to our bedroom. Hopefully that should solve a slow/no access on my phone when the wife and I were both using our phones in the bedroom.

This is what I just tested....not bad....
