You know, maybe it's just the old man in me talking, but I see several people listing these desirable exotics.....really, I wouldn't want to own any of them.
You can't drive them because they're too valuable, and miles decreases the value, plus you run the risk of some knucklehead scratching it...
To my knowledge, the only choice you have for aftermarket struts on a 2014 or 2015 Civic Si are Truharts.
Reasonably priced too. I got mine from Chris @ Redshift Motorsports.
Morimoto Mini H1 projectors were used (I forget which generation; they were the newest iteration of Morimoto projectors at the time) along with Morimoto ballasts, the appropriate relay harness, and Morimoto XB35 bulbs. Like i said; all high-quality stuff. I had originally wanted to use Acura TSX...
Although my own personal experience may not square with others, here's my take -
I had retrofits done on one of my other vehicles several years ago, at considerable cost. Aftermarket replacements were not available, so retrofits were my only option. I hired a professional retrofitter to do the...
A bit late since it wasn't today, but on Tuesday evening did an oil/filter change (145,000 miles) and put my stock 18" wheels and tires back on the car. I went too aggressive on the offset for my Advan wheels.
I personally have fit a 12.8" rotor (325mm) rotor inside a 17" wheel using an AP Racing CP8350 caliper and a custom bracket. You can probably squeeze up to 13" but that's about it (unless you go to something super-exotic). Most brake manufacturers will recommend a minimum 3mm clearance all...
You can get the Stoptech Touring kit for a touch over $1200 from procivic.com. That's a smaller 4-piston aluminum caliper with a stock-sized (11.8") rotor.
StopTech made the HPD-branded kits for Honda Racing, if that matters to you. They are high-quality.
Just be aware that those eye-catching...
It's been a few weeks, but I don't think I ever posted after I got everything installed -
Swift Spec-R lowering springs
Truhart front struts and Koni Sport rear shocks
Buddy Club adjustable rear upper control arms
Advan RZ-II wheels 17x8" et37
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 225/45R17
There's a bit...
Well, I bolted up my new wheels on just the passenger side to see how it looked. The car is extremely dirty, but you get the idea. Going in inch down in wheel diameter really accentuates how much this thing needs to be lowered. I don’t think Swift Spec-R springs will be low enough for me now...
Yep, depends heavily on operator driving habits.
I currently have 125K miles on the OEM clutch in my 2014 FB6.
Before this, I had nearly 300K miles on the stock clutch in my 2001 Civic EX (traded it in on the 2014 FB6).
Got rubber mounted on my new wheels today.
Specs:
Advan Racing RZ-II 17x8 et +37
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 225/45R17 94V
I figure to lose about 12 lbs. per corner.
