    Advice on private sale

On the surface I'd get my car back ASAP and hope that the whole thing wasn't some sort of scam; or worse. (In the future, suggest blanking out real names on "documents" you post or it may come back to "bite you".

Bald summer tires at 15xxx Miles

Visual inspection - Classic, to me, Navy Sailor jargon (32 yrs supporting FBM Program.)

Fuel range/tank range of 1 mile fills with 11.83gal to the rim

In our '12 Si (13.2 gal tank) I've gone as many as 50 miles beyond the lo-fuel warning light and had .8 gal (calculated) left. I calculate 2.5 - 2.7 gal left when I hit lo-fuel warning light. Range is calculated on current mpg times gal left in tank (less the lo-fuel margin - probably 2 gal in...

Why I should, or Shouldn't get a 2013 SI Sedan

The '12 - -15 Si is an extremely easy stick-shift to learn on - the clutch action is light and it has a consistent, smooth engagement point. On a level surface you can be barely off idle and she'll pull off from a dead stop without stalling and idle up to 6 mph without any gas - Great for stop...

Why I should, or Shouldn't get a 2013 SI Sedan

The '13 Si - sedan only - is a great choice. If money is no object and with 2 kids a '16 Civic Touring might be a better choice. Either way fun and dependability await you.

What do you think about this?

Just think what the Si with "40 or 50 more horses/torque" will be like!! - January 2017 can't come soon enough - the '12 DBP may have a new stablemate, if I can convince the wife to buy in to all the "safety upgrades"!!!

Love the ears - he's part Dingo. Rescues are the way to go. Great "foot shot", by the way.

    How to beat a WRX?

I agree - but what is the title of this thread? True Car lists SE with the PP at $30K - if you get their advertised $1,800 off you're at $28.2k and you're still 1 second slower to 60, etc.

    How to beat a WRX?

GTI's do low 6's and cost near $30G - Car and Driver quotes WRX at 5.0 for $30G - Mustang V6 is $27G stripped but can pull a more "competitive" 5.5 sec 0-60 mph standing start. If you want to "drive it like you stole it" for the price the WRX can't be beat - just don't plan on being comfortable...

    How to beat a WRX?

A WRX in tune will take an unboosted Si any day, any driver who can keep his/her foot to the floor and shift at red-line. Enjoy the comfort, reliability, and economy you have; or spend $10k more and get a v6 Mustang!

    Clutch pedal feel

Our '12 Si hasn't changed in 44,000 miles (4 years on the 6th of January) - the take-up point is closer to 3/4 up from the floor and very consistant, well it may have changed 10% but not all at once. Feel hasn't changed at all - take 'er in for a check.

Corsport Worst customer support and vendor

For purchasing from a vendor who wants to argue with the customer and charge him for thinking all vendors are interested in providing customer service (without reading all the fine print). Sucker me once - shame on you, sucker me twice - shame on me!

What size tire to keep same as stock height if I go to 17" wheels?

Tire Rack specs gives revs/mile for a lot of their comparisons - just look at brand you have now and compare it to same brand with rim diameter you want - anything within 1 or 2 % (about what different brands vary in the same tire size) should be fine.

    question about the oil level

You're fine. Dots above are typical of oil that drips off the dipstick onto the "tube" as you remove/reinsert the dipstick. The 4.4 qts. is total fill including what's in the filter. Winter/Summer oil expansion is inconsequential to over- or under-filling - I wouldn't do it but 1/2 qrt. above...

    question about the oil level

Sounds like you checked the oil before starting the engine and, if on a ramp (front wheels only) you had a serious deviation from level or were on a hell of a downslope. The key is "on level ground" - If you added 4.4 qts, and changed the filter, and you have an Si you should be at the full mark...

    Heater issue

Did the heater blow hot? You may be chasing a non-issue - If you're not pulling hills or driving in Stop & Go traffic the heater fan seldom comes on in our Si.

Not straight - Off center steering wheel

Tech was not paying attention when the alignment was done. I have same issue - pot hole, rim, tire. Drove car for 3 months and steering wheel stayed centered and fine. Replaced rim, 4 tires, and after the alignment steering is still fine but I'm at 11:58:30 and will live with it for another...
