2012 Civic Si Rev Hang - Software Update

Got ours done Monday and even the wife commented on the improvement - Rev Hang is gone! A Sweet Ride is even better. From my experience Honda is not telling the dealerships anything about this, but if you can get them to plug the tester in the PGM-FI code will pop. It took me 2 visits, and 2...

    Does your Si burn oil?

My Si experience is like skyfox23 First checked at about 1,000 miles and it was about 1/4 qt. low. Checked yesterday at 2,698 and it was the same. I'm babying Mr. Blue and averaging 31.48 mpg (80% around town). Computer is showing 33.2 (about 5.5% high). The 2 short (200 - 300 mile) road trips...

    2012 civic si clutch

Ours also engages high - much higher and deliciously smoother than our 98 Ex (144k + miles) but, if you move the seat "way back" it's natural and greatly reduces the rev hang at lower revs. I have my seat set to the end of its travel and have to almost stretch to have the clutch touch the floor...

1st Trip with the Si Sedan, My thoughts...

Still learning the ropes with ours, and waiting for the salt and sand to clear off the roads. Concerning the "rev hang" Try this: When shifting engage the clutch just enough (about 1/2 down in ours) to make the gear change - having the seat farther back than normal makes it much easier. (I...

2013 Honda Civic Redesign Info Discussed

You're so right about the variation. Our (now) "beater" '98 Civic Ex 5 speed (144,000+ miles) per tank average has ranged from a low of 29.5mpg (all in-town, Mobile, Al., 100+ degrees = full AC) to 41.7mpg (upper Maryland thru the Poconos to Cheshire with some AC (@ 64-74 mph via speed...

2013 Honda Civic Redesign Info Discussed

Don't be so sure of the under 40 mpg for the Si. Our car sticker EPA Estimate lists the standard 22-31, 25 combined and a range of 18-26 city, 25-37 highway. The February 2012 Consumer Reports which recommends the Si, indicates in their tests they got 20 city, 39 highway, 29 combined! The one we...
