Good point, maybe the driver did a liftoff. Most likely the car has a much stronger engine than stock and he intentionally does that to place balance and grip on the front. I was tempted to try that myself on the road see if the Si is strong enough to actually feel it but it is a bit too much...

No official news as far as i know. Saw news today about Williams going with Mercedes for 2014 but nothing more about McLaren. Monaco was even more interesting than usual this year for sure. I always like it so I am biased :)

Depends what you look for. Scion is the stiff competition if you look for a naturally aspirated nice handling coupe in the Si price range in my opinion. If you need a Sedan than Si is even more enticing. I like Minis, just not a wise purchase, I would buy one for sure if money was no object...

Nice cars, handle like a go kart more or less. Sadly i have seen it many times as an example of what not to buy. Transmission issues are common with them also expensive since they're BMWs i guess that is enough of a reason for them. Base Mini is way slower than an Si though, the sportier ones...

It was in Russia so he may get off easy if he's rich enough. Insurance has diff rules compared to here. Untill 2003 car insurance was not mandatory :) Not sure how it works nowadays.
