Official 'What did you do to your car today?' Thread

Did you strip the chrome or just sand it? I was thinking about doing this with all the exterior chrome including badges on mine.

    Picking a shift knob

As long as it's 10x1.5 thread it should fit. Other than that it's just a matter of personal preference.

    Hydrodip at home

I found a website that sells an at home kit that includes everything you need to hydrodip anything you want for about $70. Has anyone used or even seen anything like this? It says the kit comes with 1sq meter (20"x6') of film which i would think would be enough to do quite a few parts.

you have to be a couple inches away to see the marks that are on it. It looks almost flawless in person.

    Paint flaking off bumper

Never took the bumper off. I'm going to let it go for now and see if it gets worse, but when i take it in for an oil change I'll mention it and see what they have to say.

    Paint flaking off bumper

The title makes it sound worse than it is but i noticed that on the edge of the rear bumper, where it meets the quarter panel, the paint is starting to bubble and flake. The car only has 4700 miles on it. Would Honda fix it under warranty?

    First post/suggestions please

No i don't have one yet because of the fact that i would need a tune and don't have the $1500 right now to get a tuner, downpipe, and intake that i want. Maybe after the holidays. I'm actually thinking of taking the Injen off for the winter so the road salt doesn't destroy it.

    2015 si burning oil

Like others have said already i would keep an eye on it. It almost sounds to me like the dealer might assume you are naive and don't know anything and are trying to take advantage of you because of your age.But that's just my opinion. I worked at dealerships for about 10 years and never heard of...

    2015 si burning oil

I don't want to be "that guy" but you contradicted yourself. How could it be full if the factory forgot the oil?

Have you looked into Injen axelback? I have one on my 15 si and it's not ridiculously loud or ricey sounding. Doesn't do much as far as power but definitely sounds better than stock.

    Littleshak's "Orange Blossom Special" build

Installed the ss and base bushings today. It's supposed to be a 30% reduction but feels like a lot more. Took it out for a drive and kept thinking i was missing gears but it was in gear. It's going to take a little bit to get used to.

    Civic Manual Trans issues?

2015 si 4,500ish miles haven't had a problem with the tranny at all, well none that i am aware of at least. I don't really beat on it too much but when i do I'm usually already in 4th or 5th and just put the accelerator through the floor and don't downshift.

Got my bps short throw today. :D Tomorrow I'll be digging into my center console to install this bad boy. And I think it's freaking awesome that they actually sent paper clips to hold the tabs open to get the stock one out because I didn't have any.

    Opinions on rear camber arms

Either way I'm still getting the ones that are on Amazon next week and hopefully i will be happy with them.

    Opinions on rear camber arms

So the spc 67470 you get less noise/vibration but can lose alignment and the 67475 won't come out of alignment as easily at the cost of some noise? Or did i misinterpret that?
