Do some googling on cedar and fireplace creosote/aging it/health concerns with burning it etc. I know a lot of people use it to start a fire because it starts and burns hot fast. Just want you to be aware.

I’m jealous. I’ve always used a maul with wedge shaped angles on each side. It’s always worked really well for me, but a log splitter is clearly less work. The one I’ve used for decades looks similar in head shape to this.
