Ok I just got the invidia q300 exhaust sent to me installed it threw away the old one and now I am wondering will I fail emissions?

You would not fail from installing a catback exhaust. You'd fail if you put a catless downpipe in though.

omg ty I thought I was getting a 2.5 but I had looked at so many dam exhausts that day I ordered the wrong dam one. Then I started to read. Now is 2.75 to large for a non aspirated engine?

Not at all. A number of people have 3" on their NA setups. No issues with yours.

No installed fine the only fault is they use the stock hanger which brings the muffler close to the body of the vehicle and if a large bump is hit it will ding. I had a muffler friend installed it he tweeked it a bit so I have yet to here it bang. I did call invidia they said they had some calls lately about it and said that a place called kartboy sells hangers that could be used I did not get the fit though and when I get on the site it seems to be all for Subaru's. The sound is very deep around 3500 to 4500 seems to be where you get the echo type sound or when it gets its loudest under 3500 it sounds quiet but much better than the raspy stock exhaust. I will say the piping is beautiful and well constructed.

So what actually does larger diameter do for the performance of the vehicle and would a cold air intake help now or would it all be in my head? the placebo affect

No placebo. Bigger diameter = more air flow = less restriction. Bigger always doesn't mean better though. It mostly depends on your setup and tune.

so if I went from 2.5 to 2.75 stock setup I guess Ill get a intake the greddy or the takeda closed model will probably not be as loud. I hope lol

I probably should have waited and went for a tanabe when it came out since I like the more quiet exhaust I went by youtube videos they give a good idea but your still not standing next to it. From a tuners point of view the q300 would be tame from a novice who likes to have a car handle good and perform a little better still a bit to loud. So if you all ever here of a system for a 2013 coupe that is more tame I want it.

The Q300 will be a better exhaust that Tanabe will be. Tanabe doesn't listen to reviews or customer needs. They won't make an exhaust bigger than 2.5".

What about Borla why are they so dam expensive and there is so many rave reviews. Are they that good. I know magnaflow was good.

They are good in terms of quality (Tanabe including). But they are not the best performing exhausts for the 2012+ Sis.

The best ones would be:
3" - Ultimate Racing, Skunk2, Full Race, soon to be Tsudo
2.75" - Invidia Q300/N1, Tsudo, Greddy Evo3

ok cool would that takeda or greedy intake help the overall system. Im not going to rip out the guts at all if I ever do anything to the engine it will be a supercharger not a turbo.

Yes, definitely. Like I say to many Takeda/Greddy intake owners, you can always convert those intakes from 3" to 3.5" on the long run (w/ flashpro) since the intake filter is a 3.5". You'll just need to fabricate a 3.5" piping to fit the intake and have the maf connection.

Is there no love for Apexi anymore? Don't hear anyone talking about them these days..

I don't think Apexi has an exhaust for your car.

Well crap girlfriend can stand the muffler she says it is to loud. What avenues do I have now I do not have the stock anymore it went to the scrap yard. Any ideas

She thinks the q300 is too loud? You really scrapped the oem exhaust?

Honestly it has a very low loud hum that does get a little old it is a lot louder than the videos
