DIY 2012+ Civic Trunk Lid Insulator (4 Door)

trunkinsulator.jpg

What you need:
Let's Begin:
  1. Remove the existing trunk latch cover. There are a couple of hooks in the front of the cover and a release tab in the rear. Don't worry about ruining the existing cover since you will be installing a new one:

  2. Install the new trunk cover. It should slide in place easily, but make sure the left-hand hook inserts inside the latch instead of outside (highlighted with a light-green arrow in the photo below):

  3. Line up the insulator with the holes in the trunk and start installing the clips:

  4. There is one clip that is completely different from the rest:

Install that clip in the middle of the insulator and screw it in with a screwdriver (shown below):

  5. That's it, you're done!

you dint have it in your 2012 si?? i have it ! lol

Yeh, but you're from Canada - EH ? motor manufactures seem to always give other Countries stuff we don't get.
I'd like to know why it isn't even available for the Coupe(NON-Si)....... There's a lot of money being lost for not offering things for Coupes (in my Book).......... Guess I could get one thing I'd like made, and that is a baseball cap that only has H on it. But there's plenty of other stuff that could be modile pacific......
COUPE

I was trying to do H Coupe with the H over the Coupe but was moved by the edit system.

I was working my way to doing that, so thanks for picking up my slack :bunny:

Real nice job. But I was shocked to see the price of this thing. :escaper:Is the car any quieter as a result, or is it mainly to finish the appearance of the trunk the way Honda should have done it?

Well, I had only owned the car for a week prior to installing it, so if it reduced the noise at all, I wouldn't be a good subject to comment on that. But if anything, it does complete the appearance of the trunk interior since it looked out of place without one to begin with.

Yeah my dealer quoted me 143! I'm gonna wait or check CHH.
